Canyonlands winding road Utah - Hidden Secrets and Remote Places In 2019 I went on a 10-day mission to capture outdoor content for TUI, a multinational travel and tourism company, that planned to promote Utah to their German audience using Instagram Ads. Since I have been on adventures in Utah before, it was easier for me to plan my shooting schedule and locations ahead,
Together with VisitUtah, the local tourism board, I was able to witness and capture some of the most incredible sceneries, sunrises and adventure vibes that I have ever experienced.

Mileage Like during most of my projects for tourism boards we spent many hours on the road chasing moment after moment and location after location. From Las Vegas we drove deep into the state of Utah close to some of the most remote places of the USA and all the way back through Arizona. Many miles off and on the road Timing Before we arrived in Las Vegas, I created a roadmap with exact waypoints, driving times and a shooting schedule. We had great weather and were able to strictly follow the schedule with no delays. How we planned the waypoints Special Permissions Applying for filming and photography permissions in the USA is no fun, especially when you want to cover as many places as we did. In the end we weren't able to fill out all required forms but ended up having just enough to cover everything we needed. Liceneses were needed Hidden Secrets The best feedback we received for the spots that you cannot see on Instagram every day. However, most of these locations were campgrounds with terrific views and captured at the right time of the day. Obvious spots noone knows about Alternative Trails VisitUtah and TUI also had the great idea to document hikes outside of the famous National Park Areas. Places that everyone usually just passes by by car turned out to be great hiking areas where no permissions were needed. If you drive it, you can hike it The Eye Catchers A more challenging part of the trip was to cpature images of the most photographed places in all of Utah like Angel's Landing or the arches in Arches National Park. Different angles, special permission and good timing were the key to achieve this goal. Hot Spots re-discoverd National Parks During our road trips we visited many of the National Parks that Utah has to offer. The response to our content of the lesser visited parks like Canyonlands was phenomenal because people haven't seen much of these parks before. There is not only Zion
